Time Lapse for Island Records

Over the past month I have been working on a portrait of a musician, for Island Records. This commission will make up all the record cover art work. The painting process has been recorded by time lapse photography, which will be used on television adverts. I don’t quite know how they are going to put it all together but I am amazed by the funds they are prepared to allocate to an as yet unknown musician. Look out for a chap called Josh Osho and let me know what you think of the music, he is intended to be the next Seal. I do like what little I have heard on the web. I have been kept in the dark as to how much advertising they are intending to use.
Having Time Laps photography in the studio is at first an odd experience but one soon gets used to it, as long as I remember to switch it off when I’m getting changed! It is all part of the modern ‘Artist as Celebrity’ fashion which is set to stay, I’m not really in favour as I see an artist as a silent observer, a conduit between life and art, but the Market must have it’s way!
