Military

The artist has painted military art since he could first draw. He is currently the official artist for the Influence Brigade of the British Army. During his time at Camberwell Art School he became the War Artist for 1 MECH Brigade IFOR. He then went to Florence to study classical techniques. This enabled him to paint with greater understanding of the technical knowledge of the Old Masters. This is the traditional approach expected for military Mess Painting, especially for the British Army, which has a unique relationship to commissioned art.

He has served as a Yeomanry Soldier & Officer for over 25 years. Therefore this artist has a soldier's insight into equipment and posture, which makes his work's understanding of British Army culture more thorough than any other living war artist.
