This ended the Promises of his astonishing Lancastrian grandfather, who was elected to the throne, Henry IV.

Hugh has served in the Yeomanry for 30 years, and now he exhibits his work at all the major History Festivals in England. He is not a photo-realist, but a follower of painters like Titian, Caravaggio and Sargent. His attention to military detail has a soldier’s eye whilst still retaining the painterly qualities of a loose almost impressionistic approach together with historic accuracy.
