An F Adam Smith built New Broad Street House in 1886 near Liverpool Street Station. This is reflected in 66 Old Broad Street, the office block designed by R Rogers and finished in 2015. The Joy of Late Victorian flamboyance with all its detailing and robustness, sits nobbily beside the plain glass front of a nondescript carbuncle. Notice the lighting behind the glass and even an aeroplane's reflection.
