J.Hugh.L.Beattie Portraits, Military & Civil.

2021. The exhibition and December party season is over and in the snow of January I can look back at the exhibition. In the end there were 3 very well turned out Private views and the last one was the biggest and sold the most. Prints and paintings have been selling well since the exhibition and I have some wonderful commissions in the pipe line. The exhibition made a good profit.

The ‘Landscape of the Nude’ project has since been exhibited at London bridge, and I have been asked to exhibit in Liverpool next month! A part of the exhibition will also be exhibited in Battersea. So it has really developed lots of interest.

The remainder of the Rome collection is now too small to exhibit and the English ruins are down to one or two. I have started new paintings of Venice because of the popularity of the small paintings. When I was in Venice I managed to hire a fibreglass open boat to motor up the Grand Canal by myself, so the next paintings will be from the water, which is very rare nowadays.

Before I go to Dubai and Penang to paint commissions, I’m working on a portrait of the Dean of Winchester University.
